The new Timeline shows your current update to a summary of your entire Facebook birthdate (mine was in 2007), which includes status updates, pictures, videos, etc. into two columns. Viewing your Timeline is just the same as viewing your Profile. No changes made when you view the News Feed through Home. :)

Note: switching to the new Timeline does not change your current Privacy Settings.
